From Static to Dynamic: How Motion Graphics Supercharge Websites and Social Media

Video is now a cornerstone of marketing, with 91% of businesses reportedly using it in 2023 — especially in short-form formats. But with so much content out there, how can a brand stand out in an oversaturated attention economy? This is where motion graphics and animation come into play.

Improvements in software and technology have allowed for the expansion of motion graphics into web design and set the groundwork for animation to succeed now, where things like Flash failed in the past. Today, apps like Lottie and Rive make it easy to integrate interactive animations while keeping file sizes down, broadening possibilities for designers. This expanding tech not only creates a smoother user experience but also adds functionality — and a touch of ✨surprise and delight✨ that’s exactly what we deliver for our clients.

We are going to have a look at a few examples where motion graphics can make your brand stand out:

Preloader

Following our recent rebrand, the tda! website preloader sets the stage by bringing the tda! story to life in a quick, engaging motion that injects personality from the very first moment. This animation doesn’t just stop there — it also serves as a recognisable intro and outro card in our videos, reinforcing brand identity at both ends of the content. This consistent branding touchpoint builds familiarity and strengthens audience connection with the tda! brand across platforms.

A website preloader is a way to make a great first impression on a website. It can hide any latency issues and give the viewer an immediate intro into the brand. An animated logo is a quick way to show the story of the brand and to give further meaning to the branding. When the animation is tied to the brand story it elevates the brand and makes it feel more alive.

In this case, we animated the logo for the Sustainability Innovation lab for their web preloader. Playing on the dragonfly/book motif we gave the logo some life and meaning.

MODX Explainer

One of the common tasks motion design can help to solve is explaining difficult concepts. Here, we needed an animation to highlight some features of MODX, the CMS we often work with, for people who might not be familiar with the product. In this case, motion design is a friendly and informative way of introducing someone to a topic.

Reveal Animation

On our Services page, animated icons and text work together to create a dynamic, engaging experience. These icon animations guide the user’s eye, adding branded visual interest and complementing the other parallax effects on the page. Together, they elevate what could otherwise be a text-heavy experience, making it visually appealing and easier to navigate. Take a peek below:

Social Media

Social media is a fast paced world and competing for attention is the name of the game. While user-generated content reigns supreme, there’s plenty of room for subtle, well-crafted branded content that hits the spot.

Motion design opens up this space, offering brands a chance to blend seamlessly into the feed while leaving a memorable impression and a high-end look.

From adding personality to your website to creating scroll-stopping social content, a bit of animation can take your brand to new heights. Want to make your brand stand out? Let’s chat about how we can bring your vision to life with custom motion graphics!
