September Marketing Campaigns we LOVED!

Welcome to another month of tda’s favourite campaign picks from the marketing industry! This month we are looking at Premier League, ALDI & Nike.

1. Premier League ‘Together Against Suicide’

The Together Against Suicide campaign was born out of a powerful collaboration between the Premier League and suicide prevention charity Samaritans, with crucial support from broadcaster Roman Kemp and Tottenham Hotspur CEO Vinai Venkatesham. Backed by all 20 Premier League clubs, the initiative sits within the League’s wider Inside Matters programme, which is dedicated to supporting mental health across players, fans, schools, and communities. From providing safe spaces at stadiums to funding tools like R;pple, the campaign shows how deeply football can engage its audience when it goes beyond the pitch to tackle issues that affect millions.

We love it for taking football, the game that grips millions every week, and flipping it into a force for life-saving conversations. It’s direct, human and visible on a global stage. Suicide is so often hidden in silence, and here’s the Premier League putting it front and centre, showing fans that compassion is as much a part of the game as passion. This is sport with purpose, and it’s powerful.

2. Lewis CapALDI

Now this one isn’t your classic big-budget, multi-agency campaign — it’s a social moment that was destined to go viral. Honestly, how did it take so long for people to clock that Lewis Capaldi literally has ALDI in his name? The internet did what it does best, and Aldi jumped right in. Whoever pushed that button deserves a pay rise.

We love it because it’s simple, cheeky and makes total sense. No overthinking, no 50-slide decks — just a sharp cultural connection that people couldn’t help but share. Sometimes the best marketing moments are the ones that feel obvious after someone else does them first. We love you, Lewis!

3. “Why Do It?” Nike

Nike has taken one of the most iconic taglines in the world — Just Do It — and flipped it for a new generation. Why Do It? isn’t about medals, records or highlight reels; it’s about choice. The choice to show up, to start, to try, even when the world feels heavy or the odds feel stacked. By reframing greatness as a decision rather than a destination, Nike is handing the mic to next-gen athletes and saying: this chapter is yours to write. Their new gen athletes include names like Carlos Alcaraz, LeBron James, Caitlin Clark, Qinwen Zheng and others.

We love how Nike went bold without being flashy. They respect the legacy of Just Do It while admitting the truth: today’s athletes face pressures and doubts that can make even starting feel like the hardest step. The campaign makes that first move feel powerful in itself and that’s the kind of message that lands. It’s not just sport marketing; it’s a cultural reset that proves three words can still spark a movement, even 40 years on.
