How do you streamline recycling compliance for businesses? This was the task set to us when we were introduced to The Environment Exchange (t2e). This is a complex world where strategy meets sustainability, empowering businesses to navigate the recycling regulations with ease and efficiency.

In the UK, businesses dealing with significant amounts of packaging material face a clear mandate: if your operations handle over 50 tonnes annually and your turnover exceeds £2m, you're tasked with funding its recycling. This challenge is not only about adhering to regulations but also about contributing to environmental sustainability. 'Obligated producers' are required to obtain Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs) to verify that an equivalent amount of their packaging has been recycled, a crucial step for compliance.

The Environment Exchange (t2e) operates an online marketplace where these companies can procure PRNs from accredited entities. t2e's platform enhances the trading process with its transparency, security, and access to real-time pricing and historical data, ensuring efficient market participation.

The Brief

Our task was to rightly position t2e as the market leader in the PRN market. The challenge was to take a modern and dynamic brand and a website that is responsive from mobile to desktop. Content on the site was created to educate and recruit new members to the platform.

Our solution

To realise these objectives, we created a fully responsive site with strong visuals to explain the need for PRNs and encourage businesses to try the trading platform demo or to sign up for membership. The headline figures displayed front and centre on the home page highlight the volume of transactions and the popularity and longevity of t2e's trading platform. Explanatory video content helps to demystify the workings of the PRN market. The website also features client testimonials to reassure buyers and sellers as to the ease of use of the platform and the excellent service that t2e provide.

We also provided templates to be integrated with the members-only PRN trading platform in order to create a seamless transition from one system to the other. The site was built on the secure, scalable MODX Content Management System, and was configured to create a user-friendly platform for the client to update content and to upload regular bulletins.
